Statement:
POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF) is the collective that fabricate new structural formula through evolving archives. The iterations of prototypes based on continuous researching for formative elements aim to study structural evolution of the garments; those elements can be extracted from various fields such as architecture, multi-media art and even nature.
We approach the design by classifying our archive into three positions—
1.Right (Fundamental Model)
2.Center (Bridging Model)
3.Left (Radical Model)
This classification model gives opportunity to explore from the most basic to the most radical elements of our design, which we use to question, disrupt and evolve.
3.1 Preview 'Fixed Explosive'
11 Rue Michel-le-Comte 75003 Paris
15—18 January, 2020
As a flowing extension of its previous 3.0 version, 3.1 carries over key items through the renovation of fabrics and patterns and aesthetically removes the original function of finishing techniques to render them as new design elements.
Each version explores the method to re-frame and re-create ideas, emphasising the blurred fluidity between reality and imagination inherent to design. Our destructive and reconstructive approach culminates in the fixed-explosive; where the movement of design, a state of constant change, becomes a permanent and unalterable garment.
